Sketches in Tyres

As part of the Art Dredge project I attended an Art Recycle workshop with Donna Bramall and Jason Heppenstall. From this most enjoyable day I was inspired to explore the potential of using the edges of bicycle tyres to make sculptures. I loved the idea of using them to create sketch like lines to shape a recognisable form. As time went on, I developed an allergy to the rubber so moved on from this material taking with me the techniques I developed to create claws and feet and used them in my fabric sculptures.
